In 1896, Samuel Paley opened his own cigar shop in Chicago after working as a lector in a cigar rolling factory. He created the brand La Palina originally, with a radio show called the “La Palina Hour” out of Philadelphia as his advertising. The brand was retired with Sam, but years later, it is back on the market with William Paley following his family's heritage. La Palina cigars capture the original Paley style — smooth, well-rounded blends that create cigars of true elegance and finesse.
Among the premium La Palina portfolio is a number of 90+ rated cigars including La Palina Classic made with a Brazilian wrapper delivering nutty, bright, and tangy flavors, La Palina Maduro a complex cigar offering notes of marshmallow, chocolate, and sour cherry, and La Palina Mr. Sam an evenly burning cigar providing notes of earth and wood leading to a cedary finish. A strong, up and coming boutique force, La Palina cigars are the perfect addition to your rotation. Don Tomas Maduro Allegro (5.5" x 50) is sweeter and more robust than its natural counterpart, Clasico. This one features exceptional Honduran and Nicaraguan long fillers bound by a maduro leaf and encased in a Connecticut broadleaf Maduro wrapper. Each of these cigars are sealed in individual tubes to ensure optimal freshness.
La Palina is renowned for its quality, consistency and
mouthwatering flavors, so much so that sometimes I'm even tempted
to light two cigars at once! The brand began back in 1896 with
founder Sam Paley, before retiring in 1926. El Ano 1896, named
after the year of inception is another cigar crafted from Mexican
San Andres wrapper and Dominican long-fillers - delivering big
flavors of espresso, walnuts, leather and earth. La Palina's got
quality down to a science!
La Palina is exemplary when it comes to crafting cigars. The
brand was established in 1896 but briefly disappeared after Sam
Paley, the founder, retired in 1926. Having come back with a
bang, they have masterfully created El Ano 1896 - a blend of
Mexican San Andres wrapper and Dominican long-fillers, delivering
delicious notes of espresso, walnuts, leather and earth. An
experience so good that I'm tempted to light two cigars at once!
It's no surprise that La Palina has certainly got quality down to
a science.
When it was released in 2013, the La Palina KB Series got its
unique title due to its powerful notes - in fact, its creator
Bill Paley could not even finish it. Jumping ahead eight years,
this full-bodied stick underwent a packaging overhaul to
represent its remarkable history. The blend consists of Honduran
Corojo ’99 wrapper, Criollo ’98 binder and Nicaragua Corojo ’99
and Criollo ’98 fillers. All ingredients are handmade in
Honduras.
The La Palina KB Series was first released in 2013. Its
intriguing name, 'Kill Bill', was coined due to the blend's
potent nature - so powerful that its creator, Bill Paley,
couldn't even finish it. Now given a new look in 2021, this
full-bodied and full-strength stick features a Honduran Corojo
’99 wrapper over a Criollo ’98 binder and Nicaraguan Corojo ’99
and Criollo ’98 filler. The La Palina KB Series is handmade in
Honduras.
