La Palina is exemplary when it comes to crafting cigars. The brand was established in 1896 but briefly disappeared after Sam Paley, the founder, retired in 1926. Having come back with a bang, they have masterfully created El Ano 1896 - a blend of Mexican San Andres wrapper and Dominican long-fillers, delivering delicious notes of espresso, walnuts, leather and earth. An experience so good that I'm tempted to light two cigars at once! It's no surprise that La Palina has certainly got quality down to a science.
