Aerating Your Tobacco

Pipe

Have you ever thought about smoking a tobacco pipe? Well, if you have a plan on doing it, one thing you need to have in mind is learning how to aerate your tobacco before it is burned.

Aerating your tobacco not only helps your lungs, but it could end up saving you money by taking it slow on burning it down. So, learning how to aerate your tobacco isn’t a time consuming thing to do and’s actually pretty simple. You don’t even need to buy a tool.

A simple way to aerate is by taking a paperclip and straightening out one end of it, which is the end you would use to make holes into the packed tobacco. Zippo lighters often offer an aerating tool with their lighters if you’d rather have one of those instead of the clip, completely your choice. Not aerating the tobacco after you pack it could end up burning it too fast and making it too hot when you draw on it, essentially hurting your lungs and making you cough.

Tired of your tobacco not tasting as great as you know it should? Well, aeration helps to make the taste last rather than burning it too hot whenever it’s packed too tightly in the chamber. With aerated tobacco, you’ve a good burning ember and usually don’t have to keep lighting it over and over. Aeration helps to keep the tobacco cooler even when you’re inhaling as it’s best to have loosened the pack so you’re not pulling too hard.

As I’ve said before, it isn’t a time consuming thing to learn especially is its money saving, how everyone likes to be these days.

Inevitably you’ll have some times where you think you aerated the tobacco good enough but then realize after lighting that you didn’t, but not to fret, just take the aerating tool, or the bent out paperclip to help get some holes in there. Aeration will help your lungs, throat, and tobacco last longer if you learn how to do it as it’s supposed to be done.

All-in-all, aeration is something you need to do until you have been smoking a pipe long enough to know exactly how to pack it without it being too hot and harsh on your lungs. It’s best to go ahead and learn how to do this to save your tobacco from over burning.
