In its short time in the cigar industry, Foundation has already amassed numerous accolades, thanks to the mastermind behind it: Nicholas Melillo. Despite his relatively young age, Melillo brings over 20 years of experience to the table. He began his journey at just 18, starting from working in a cigar shop and eventually moving up to blending cigars at Drew Estate before launching Foundation. Produced by AJ Fernandez, “Metapa is a tribute to the poetic soul of Nicaragua,” according to Melillo. The blend pays homage to the famous Nicaraguan poet Rubén Darío and is named after his hometown. It features Nicaraguan tobaccos, a Connecticut broadleaf binder, and an Ecuadorian Sumatra maduro wrapper for a bold and rich experience with hints of cocoa, cedar, and spice on the finish.
