A Miami-based cigar company founded by Pete Johnson (Tatuaje), his brother, and a few friends, L'Atelier Imports produces L'Atelier cigars - French for workshop. A special Ecuadorian wrapper known as Sancti Spiritus, a hybrid Criollo/Pelo d'Oro grown by the Oliva Tobacco Company, is used to roll the cigars at My Father cigars in Nicaragua with a blend of Nicaraguan tobaccos. Introducing Roxy: a 3.5" x 50 Petite Robusto with the same blend as the original L'Atelier. The box contains 20 cigars made with a Connecticut Broadleaf wrapper, covering Nicaraguan binder and long-fillers. To mark Surrogates 10th Anniversary, L'Atelier has rolled out the Surrogates Big Ten - a limited-edition blend that first appeared in 2022 as a 5 3/8 x 48 perfecto. The blend was subsequently updated to a 5 ¼ x 52 robusto size in 2023 and is now produced at the My Father Cigars S.A. factory in Estelí, Nicaragua. This all-Nicaraguan blend is finished with an Ecuadorian Habano Oscuro wrapper that provides a rich bouquet of cocoa, leather and earthy flavor notes with subtle hints of pepper on the finish.
