Its creator, Dion Giolito, set out to recapture a desired taste profile from years past. In the pre-1979 era of Nicaragua, this small country boasted some of the world's finest tobacco growths. These prized fields in Jalapa Valley and Esteli region produced strong, bold, and clean cigars. Decades of neglect have been overturned by legendary master grower Arsenio Ramos from Cuba. Alongside fellow experts Fernano, Chandito, and Cuban agronomist Jacinto, Arsenio has formed a literal "dream team" in tobacco production. The once-humble Somoza fields have been re-cultivated to yield their best tobaccos once again. All Illusione cigars are crafted at the renowned Raices Cubanas factory using first-generation Corojo '99 and Criollo '98 seeds. These are then wrapped with premium Café Colorado leaves and finished with a traditional triple cap.
