Illusione Cigars, crafted by Dion Giolito, have made an impression as the #7 cigar in Cigar Aficionado’s Top 25 of 2007. His goal was to replicate a specific flavor profile from Nicaragua prior to 1979 when the Sandinistas took power—bold and clean cigars from prized fields in the Jalapa Valley and Esteli region. To do this, Arsenio Ramos—a legendary Cuban master grower—recultivated the old Somoza fields, supported by Fernano, Chandito and Cuban agronomist Jacinto, forming a team with expertise unsurpassed in tobacco production.
