The term Gurkha was coined during the Anglo-Nepalese war when British soldiers began calling Nepali fighters by this name. The British were so impressed by the military prowess of these soldiers that they formed an official regiment within the British Indian Army. Their reputation for exceptional battle skills and unwavering determination became legendary. During the late 19th century, British soldiers started making their own cigars using local tobacco and named them after the esteemed Gurkha regiment. These cigars continued to be produced in various forms for over a century. In 1989, Kaizad Hansotia established Gurkha cigars in its modern form, with a focus on offering super-premium cigars known for their top-tier quality and exclusive experience. The Grand Age II series is a follow-up to the acclaimed Grand Age line and features three cigars, each presented in a 6 x 54 Toro vitola. Handmade at the Las Villas Cigars factory in Nicaragua, the Grand Age II has a unique blend that remains undisclosed. However, each cigar in this series showcases a different wrapper, with this particular one featuring a Nicaraguan Maduro wrapper.
