The name Gurkha originated during the Anglo-Nepalese war, as British soldiers began using it to refer to Nepali fighters. These skilled and tenacious soldiers were so impressive that they were eventually recognized as an official military regiment in the British Indian Army. As a tribute, British soldiers started making their own cigars with local tobacco and named them after the legendary Gurkhas. This tradition continued for over a century until Kaizad Hansotia founded Gurkha cigars in 1989, expanding its reach and focusing on providing top-quality, super-premium cigars for a luxurious experience. As part of the esteemed Grand Age series, the Grand Age II is made up of three 6 x 54 Toro vitola cigars, all handmade at the Las Villas Cigars factory in Nicaragua. Each cigar in this series features a different wrapper, with this particular offering boasting a Nicaraguan Habano wrapper.
