James Hetfield, the iconic singer/songwriter/guitarist of Metallica, joined hands with Rob Dietrich of Blackened Whiskey and Johnathan Drew of Drew Estate to bring the dream-come-true Blackened M81 Cigars into reality. After two years of experimenting to create a unique blend, it was ready – boasting a Mexican San Andres wrapper covering USA Connecticut Broadleaf binder with Nicaraguan and USA Pennsylvania leaves as the filler. Drawing inspiration from Metallica's history, the cigar bears their name, M81, as an ode to 1981 when the band was born; its title ‘Blackened' is taken from a song on their album 'And Justice for All'.
